Indoor Cycling Season Over
Every Saturday, from December to May, I do my bike training indoors at the Watts-Up Endurance lab.
It is a fantastic facility utilizing Compu-trainers in a group format.
RAMM finisher, Peter Oyler and his team provide an excellent environment for roasting yourself all winter.
Everything is measured. In 2009 I was able to train on the actual Ironman Course, I would be racing in August.
The course simulation is very accurate, it prepares you very well for riding the actual course.
It is also fun to ride courses like Kona or Ironman USA.
We ride for 3 hours against everyone one in the Lab.
It is a competitive environment that allows you to put the hammer down on your friends, when you are feeling good, and teaches you to how be humble when your not feeling so good.
My cycling power has improved, this type of training is a fun way to get your suffering in on a Saturday morning when there is snow on the ground.
